Title: What's Going On
A small video I made of Marvin Gaye's classic "What's Going On". I wanted to try and capture the essence of the time when Marvin first presented this song. Please leave comments and feedback. I hope everyone enjoys it. Take care and thank you.
I know scary right? You just had the wedding of your dreams and had 300 of your closest peeps to celebrate with you. You are now back from your honeymoon and it's time to write all of those Thank you cards for all 150 of the amazing gifts you recieved! I know you are seeing lots of wine and a sore wrist in your future but by following a few easy tips, letter writing can actually be fun and easy!
We have helped many Clients get through writing Thank you cards with a bit of our own advice and guidance from the lovely Peggy Post of Emilypost.com
Remember You need to write your Thank you notes within three months of you receiving your gift!
Coastside Couture's advice:
Grab a good bottle of wine (very important)
Plan on breaking up the Thank you card writing over a few days, don't try to tackle all 150 of them in one sit down, you will end up uncomfortable, with a sore wrist and most likely a lot of wasted cards because you started messing up.
Make sure your Husband or Wife is on hand to help, these gifts were meant for the both of you, so both of you should at least sign each card.
Try not to watch TV or a movie while writing the cards, just have some good background music as to not distract you or get silly lyrics in your heads
Make this fun, not a chore and try to write legibly and clearly so your guests can read.
Peggy Posts Advice:
Do personalize your notes and make reference to the person as well as the gift.
Do remember that a gift should be acknowledged with the same courtesy and generous spirit in which it was given.
Do be enthusiastic, but dont gush. Avoid saying a gift is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen unless you really mean it.
Dont send form letters or cards with printed messages and just your signature; dont use email or post a generic thank you on your wedding web site in lieu of a personal note.
Do promptly acknowledge the receipt of shipped gifts by sending a note right away or calling and following up with a written note in a day or two.
Dont mention that you plan to return a gift or that you are dissatisfied in any way.
Dont tailor your note to the perceived value of the gift; no one should receive a perfunctory note.
Do refer to the way you will use a gift of money. Mentioning the amount is optional.
Dont include wedding photos or use photo cards if it will delay sending the note.
Dont use being late as an excuse not to write. Even if you are still sending notes after your first anniversary, keep writing!
Who needs a note?
Anyone who gives you an engagement, shower or wedding gift, even if you have thanked them in person. Individual notes should be written to people who contributed to a group gift.
Anyone who gives a gift of money: cash, checks, contributions to savings accounts and donations to charities. Mentioning the amount is optional, but it does let the person know the correct amount was received. You should mention what you plan to do with the money.
Your attendants. A warm personal note attached to your gifts to your attendants will let them know how much you appreciate their efforts and support on your behalf.
Anyone who hosted a party or shower for you. Ideally these notes should be written within two days of the event. Each host or hostess should be thanked individually with a note and a thank you gift.
People who house or entertain your wedding guests. A note and a small gift should be sent to anyone who houses or entertains out-of-town wedding guests.
People who do kindnesses for you. The neighbor who accepts delivery of your gifts when you are at work; the cousin who supervises the parking at the reception anyone who assists you before, during or after your wedding.
Suppliers and vendors. You dont have to write everyone you hire for services, but anyone who exceeds your expectations will appreciate a courteous note of thanks.
Your parents or whoever is hosting your wedding.
So get to work! Grab your wine, your honey and start writing!

OK, I am going to try to politely say - If you don't like haul's, don't watch" but if you choose to watch and write rude comments, I will block you. The negative comments ruin it for people that do actually like hauls.
Im thinking a bit Maid Marion & Robin Hood meets 60s Hippies or Bikers, I know this sounds a little random but then that's Vikki & Chris for you! All the designs will be relaxed and spontaneous, not regimented or polished in any way. I feel I've prepared you all for this visual feast...
~ It was a lesson in multi tasking, the hair dressers doing the Bridesmaid's hair, whilst the Bridesmaid puts make up on the bride and the florist is putting fresh flowers in the flower girls hair, I do hope you're all keeping up!
The Bride's very elegant foot wear
Mia is the most perfect flower girl, quite gorgeous and a little girl who knows how to handle her flowers.
The Bridesmaid/Make up Artist is the lovely Sonara Parker we've worked with her before at the Dan Kerr bridal event, she does seriously fabulous make up for weddings and events.
More flowers were placed in the bridesmaid's hair, we individually wire rolled rose petals and clusters of Skimmia berries.
~ Then Jess and I went to the majestic Great Hall at Mains to meet up with the groom Chris
The Registrars table was dressed with an elaborate design incorporating lots of spruces and evergreens, fresh contorted willow and lots and lots of fresh fragrant roses.
The pedestal design was again dominated by contorted willow and Blue Spruce, Eucalyptus and evergreens, the heart of the design includes Avalanche, Darcey, Patience, Amalia & Ranuncula Roses.
We dressed the chairs with posies of fresh flowers that were later used on the light fittings

The Great Hall has the most beautiful Christmas Tree decorated in shimmering gold.
Jessica pinned on Chris' very special Boutonniere
The Groom's Mum wearing a fabulous Phalaenopsis Orchid Corsage
The gorgeous Gemma from The Great Hall, calms Chris's nerves
This Mustang was the perfect car to deliver Vikki (Can you believe it's December and the roof is off)
Sonara & Mia
Look at those boots!
The Bridal bouquet was a Flower Design wild and frenzied affair, with lichen branches, contorted willow, lots of Christmas foliages including fragrant Rosemary, Paphiopedilum Orchids, Claret Ranunculas, Darcey, Amalia, Patience & Grand Prix Roses and some beautiful Christmas Roses.
Everyone was waiting patiently inside for the arrival of the beautiful Bride & her Bridesmaids.
The shades of roses were chosen to compliment Vikki's individual hair colour.
These two are madly in love and so completely happy, this is what happens when you marry your bestest friend in the whole world, you just can't stop all that kissing!
Chriss (Who's looking seriously hot these days!) was ready with the bubbles!
This is Jane, my favourite registrar, I'm told you can make a request for your choice of registrar, trust me folks this is the girl for you if your planning a civil ceremony around The Fylde.
Twelve were in charge of the catering, their canapes are totally delicious as is of course everything they do (you know where Jason & I'll be on New Years Eve!).
This is our Floral Seating Plan, based on a Christmas Door Wreath
Fresh Flowers on the bar
I love the attention to detail you get with Twelve, their cutlery gleams!
I used fresh Holly leaves tied to the glasses for the place cards
