Another set of sumptuous images from the fabulous Spencer Cartwright of Repartage Photography, A little word about the seriously on trend Mr Cartwright, he is a joy to work with, he does seem to be every where and no where, in as much as he is unobtrusive, he climbs walls, he lies on the floor, he pirouettes on bridges all in the name of getting the shot, he is also a bit of a "Diet Coke Break" kinda guy for girls like me! He is based in London so we don't get to work with him too often which is a shame but over the next few weeks you'll get to see his work from some of the weddings we've shared over the past season, so I won't fill in the gaps of whose, who and what flowers I've used as that info is all here
The original Flower Design Posting from this beautiful wedding is right here
This is the magnificent Leighton Hall venue for one of the now famous Peter Jackson the Jewellers Christmas Staff Parties, I think his parties are reason enough to work for this exceptional company.
This fabulous Gothic entrance leads you into a beautiful entrance hall... Where if you're very lucky you'll find a plethora of Peter Jackson gift bags a sight to set my heart a fluttering, the promise of exquisite diamonds & delicious jewels nestled within velvet lined boxes, oh my imaginations running away with itself again, but who knows what Christmas morning will bring? (A Peter Jackson gift bag hopefully)
Seriously how gorgeous is this dining room? The caterers for this Christmas Feast were Karen Rhodes, I'm told by the extremely discerning Mrs Madeleine Jackson that the turkey was moist and delicious and the Roast potatoes were just as they should be crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I'd say that's high praise indeed from a culinary supremo of Mrs J's calibre. Candelabras were really the only choice for the table designs, they are completely in keeping with this magical space. I included some of David Austin's finest Patience & Darcey Roses, together with Grand Prix & Avalanche, garlanded around the stem of the candelabra with Holly & Ivy, very seasonal, very luscious.
I was very pleased with this photograph, the Hall reflected in the roof of our car.
Mrs Reynolds presides over all, she majestically holds court and runs Leighton Hall aristocratically, maintaining a sense of English Royalty that makes Leighton Hall so desirable, I for one love her and it, there is nowhere else like it or Mrs Reynolds in fact!!!
(She did say call me Suzy but some how I just can't it'd be like calling the Queen Liz, and that just isn't going to happen).
Peter Jackson himself and in person I should explain this was a Top Hat and Tiaras night, he isn't wearing his top hat in honour of Mrs Reynolds.
Thank you so much to Peter and his brilliant team for asking us to once again supply flowers for one of their events, we are always priveleged and honoured to be asked to create them.
Recently I came across a inquiry on a popular bridal website which promotes itself as a help to Brides and engaged couples. There is an open forum on there where Brides-To-Be can ask a question and other "experienced" Brides can answer back.
I got a bit concerned when I saw one particular thread of question which happens to pertain to our area. It went a little something like this:
BTB(Bride-To_Be): Hello looking for an inexpensive DJ for my upcoming wedding. I only have $XXX for a DJ but if I can't find one I will have my reception done with an ipod
Some of the advice she got was alright, like "post this on a different board, it may help narrow your search better" but then I see another response saying a particular DJ (whom we have worked with and wouldn't recommend) was in the BTB's area and that particular DJ's rates were reasonable. There was nothing else though, no "and that DJ is so good" or "this DJ did my wedding, he rocked it and he was inexpensive"
Lovely Brides-To Be, do yourself a favor, make sure when looking for the deals and the "inexpensive vendors", please please get some references from past clients, look into their business a bit and get more information before signing a contract. Ask other vendors if they have worked with a particular vendor. I can't tell you how many times, we refer a wonderful vendor (who may be a bit more expensive than the bottom of the barrel inexpensive one that a Bride found) and the couple ends up going with with the bottom of the barrel vendor to save money, then ends up regretting it afterward.
This is the most important day of your life, you want to make sure that the people who are helping you throw it are professional, care about you and will help to make sure it goes off as smoothly as possible. Do your homework on each vendor, interview different vendors and ask people in the industry if they have worked with particular vendors.
On another note we had an amazing wedding this weekend with some really great, professional vendors who worked as a team to make the day go perfectly!
Thanks to all involved and a BIG congratulations to the beautiful and fun couple Stacie and Stephen!

Title: Halestorm - I Get Off
Director: Phil Mucci
Album: Halestorm (2009)
Label(s): Atlantic Records
Lyrics/Letra...
You don't know that I know,
You watch me every night
And I just can't resist the urge
To stand here in the light
You're greedy eyes upon me
And then I come undone
And I could close the curtains
But this too much fun
[Chorus/Refrão]
I get off on you
Getting off on me
I give you what you want
But nothing is for free
It's a give and take
Kinda life we make
When your line is crossed
I get off
I get off
So much left unspoken
Between the two of us
It's so much more exciting
To look when you can touch
You could say I am different
And maybe am afraid
But I know how to twist ya
To bring you to your knees
[Chorus/Refrão]
I get off on you
getting off on me
I give you what you want
[ Halestorm Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
but nothing is for free
it's give and take
kinda life we make
when your line is crossed
I get off
I get off
But you don't know
but you can't see
What i'll do for you
I'll do for me
[Pre-chorus/Pré-Refrão]
I get off on you
getting off on me
I give you what you want
Yeaaaaaaaaa...
[Chorus/Refrão]
I get off on you
Getting off on me
I give you what you want
But nothing is for free
It's a give and take
Kinda life we make
When your line is crossed
I get off
I get off
When we thought of this day we had images of freshness and elegance, a party feel to go with Lytham Club Day and a nostalgic English Garden Party meets Church Picnic sort of atmosphere, what with bunting, double decker buses, marquees and lots of lovely guests who could ask for more?. Matt is a very tall Rugby player type and a tiny rose bud buttonhole just wouldn't have done so instead he wore a fabulous Amnesia Rose with Alchemilla Mollis, Eucalyptus, Herbs and Panicum.
Robert, Edward, Andrew, Nicolas & Joseph all wore Forever Green Rose Boutonierres St Peter's was dressed with a floral arch over the door and lanterns on the pathway.
Flower Design Umbrellas always good insurance against rain
The Groom's parents David & Nicola with matching buttonhole and perfectly co-ordinated corsage
Inside the very beautiful Church, St Peter's we decorated with fabulous Pedestals, tall, towering and elegant, the pew ends were dressed with small posies of fresh fragrant blooms
And the altar had a lovely design that sat on the floor
The Bride arrived with her lovely Uncle Jim
The Bridesmaids wore gowns in Pistachio silk and carried bouquets of pink Peonies, Cezanne Roses and Pistache Anthuriums.
Lisa's Bouquet was created from Fresh Lily of the Valley, Peonies, Hydrangeas, Purple & Classic Cezanne Roses, Fresh Rosemary and Amnesia Roses.
The Brides Mum, who is extremely youthful wore a fabulous corsage of Crystal blush Callas, Dendrobium Orchids, Rolled Rose Petals, Black marabou feathers and beads.
The professional photographer on the day was quite brilliant; Lisa Gardner her website is lovely too take a look Link. Congratulations to Lisa & Matt
Young Love BlossomsLytham was absolutely packed with onlookers
We loaded the van up with the Church flowers and headed off to magnificent Lytham Hall
We used the Church Pedestals on the steps of Lytham Hall
The Flower Design Floral Seating Plan
The Hall was decorated with lots of lovely fresh flowers, garlands on the fireplace and nosegays on the staircase
The Floral Table Favours
The oval Top Table was draped in a garland of fresh flowers inspired by The Hanging Gardens
Each table was named after a flower, the guest's napkins were then dressed with that particular flower in this case Lily of the Valley
The Caterers for this wedding were the very lovely Keith and his brilliant team at Jack's Outside
The Marquee was gorgeous designed and erected by Ken from CK Marquees
